Mission

Corporación Semillas de Agua is a non-governmental non-profit organization of Colombian civil society that promotes social processes for the improvement of living conditions, the well-being and happiness of people, the conservation and restoration of territories, their ecosystems and adaptation to climate change; through capacity building processes, knowledge management, local agri-environmental experimentation, through participatory methodologies, supported by the promotion and defense of rights, especially those of nature, the enjoyment of a healthy environment, promoting transparency, mutual care with nature, gender equality, sociocultural respect and respect for all forms of life.

Vision

Corporación Semillas de Agua by the year 2025 will be an organization recognized nationally and internationally for its capabilities to manage territories in a creative, human and technical way, which is recognized as transparent, fraternal, loving and comprehensive in its work, it stands out for its proposals in: systems of adaptation to climate change, support for processes of promotion and defense of human and nature rights, fostering agri-environmental alternatives compatible with local ecosystems, egalitarian relationships, mutual care with nature, agri-environmental experimentation local, and knowledge management, to improve people's living conditions, well-being and happiness.

Finally, conservation agriculture is committed to regional autonomy and the recognition of local communities as irreplaceable actors in the territory, with a great capacity to improve their knowledge and their local economy.

Although this phenomenon is a product of the natural greenhouse effect of the earth, in recent decades it has become a global problem due to anthropic actions such as the excessive use of fossil fuels in industrialized countries, the consumption of meat, the expansion of the border. agriculture, among others that put the habitability of the planet at risk for humans. Although climate change occurs in the long term, effects such as high climate variability are already beginning to affect poor countries and populations to a greater extent.

In this sense, it is essential to initiate a process of local adaptation or mitigation through strategies such as technological adjustments or Readings of climate changes in communities to predict new behaviors and thus adjust the sowing or harvesting cycles.

The actions are based on the participatory and informed exercise of rights and the application of laws and other mechanisms that favor citizen participation and the deterioration of communities, facing the vocation of their territory and the management of natural resources for the sake of of its conservation and good management in perpetuity.

Favor better economic conditions for rural communities through processes of social transformation that allow cohesion and autonomy for the circulation of money at the local level, requiring to a lesser extent the intervention of external capital and outsourcing. In the same way, it seeks to contribute to the fair commercialization of organic products directly with consumers, the promotion of the culture of savings and production for self-consumption or food safety.
